SO!? You want to know why we only recommend a stock “paper” air filter? Take a look at the BEFORE pictures below. When you use a “drop in, 1 billion mile” air filter that requires you to keep it “oiled” and “charged”, the oil you put onto the filter has to go somewhere. The reason you have to clean it and “recharge” it with their oil is because the oil you put onto their filter gets deposited onto the idle air control screw, throttle body butterfly and into the interior of your intake manifold (oil does not evaporate, it has to go somewhere, right? Yep, onto your air flow meter, intake piping, throttle plate and inside of your intake manifold). Stick with a replaceable filter (whether you get it from us or not). We have also seen engines SEVERELY DAMAGED by a neglected “billion mile” filter. If the maintenance is not kept up, the by-product of the “free flowing, billion mile filter” is that it lets in too much DIRT. We have seen cylinder bores badly damaged due to maintenance issues because of the filter. It’s not worth the initial cost, 1/2 horsepower gain and constant maintenance required. Stick with replaceable stock, paper filters every 12 thousand miles (or check and clean them more often). We wouldn’t lie to you. We’ve seen the results, it’s not pretty.
HEY! DON’T EVEN GET US STARTED ABOUT THE “COLD AIR INTAKE” SYSTEMS AVAILABLE! Call and ask why.
